I second Brock's Magic beans. That way we could just ride our bikes using "wind" power!

I'll try. The weather lady just said we'd have sustained winds in our area of 75 miles per hour. I don't even want to know what that is in kilometers.
If you guys have seen tall pines in even a 25 mile per hour wind, you have an idea of what we're up against. We have Southern Yellow Pine trees all around our house.
I'm praying against mandatory remodeling in our future.

Keep us in your thoughts....
At this time in the US the cost at the pump per gallon of gasoline is affected twice as much buy floating taxes and the fact we do not have the refining capabilities to meat the demand, rather than the cost per barrel of crude oil. We have available through import and domestic sources plenty of crude, but do to environmental restriction and cost of building new refineries we are unable to keep up a rate that stabilizes refining cost. I am not saying that the environmental issues should be over looked at all. But the way things are is a direct affect of the way laws and policies have been implemented. I feel we need to find a better balance.

Then again I am an old oil field engineer so my view may be tinted a little by the fact that the industry's wages feed my family, and just barly did in the 90's when gasoline was selling for just 1.65 times the cost per gallon of crude oil. Right now to show my point gasoline is selling for 2.65 x the cost per gallon of crude oil avrage nation wide.
Michael I never realized you were from Odessa before..
I read the book "Friday Night Lights" last time I was out on the cedar barge ( the book is more about the life of Odessa than just football )

Are the "Permian Panthers" still down there playin ball?
Now I want to come visit your shop! I found a way to turn a MOJO pilgrimage into a work trip

I have family in Houston who started in the oil industry up here in Alberta and ended up down there a couple years ago.Jason38621.0477546296
